Mastana is an annual cultural arts show, the flag-ship event of the Cambridge University Hindu Cultural Society. It takes place at the end of Lent term and showcases a wealth of talent from the student body and residents of Cambridge.
A unique variety show attempting to fuse ancient Indian traditional art forms with the present day popular forms of entertainment, Mastana crosses all borders and brings a message of peace to everyone with all proceedings from tthe show being given to charity. It is a unique show in many respects indeed.
Mastana 2006 was held at the Cambridge Arts Theatre. The show enthralled its audience of over 600 people with its fusion of traditional and contemporary acts. Representing the creativity of British Asian youth.
This year heralds the 10th Anniversary of Mastana. On Sunday 11th March 2007 Mastana hopes to stun Cambridge once again with a magnificent display of colour and talent. Hosted in The Corn Exchange, we expect audiences of over 1000 and a show like never before.
